A Tribute to David Faud RIP 1938-2021

We are tremendously sad to report on the passing of our founder Dave Faud, who passed away peacefully on Friday 5th February 2021.

Having started the business with his wife Theresa with just a single pump in 1981, together they grew Camfaud Concrete Pumps Ltd into a major player within the industry, and one that today sits proudly as one of the largest specialist concrete pump hire businesses in Europe.

Dave was a larger-than-life character in both stature and personality. Known affectionately as ‘Big D’ he made an instant impression on anyone that he met. A ‘true gentleman’ and ‘gentle giant’ were often repeated when describing him to others. He always had time for everyone and was enormously generous and loyal to his family, friends and colleagues.

As one of the early pioneers for Concrete Pumping in the UK, Dave contributed greatly to improving standards and conditions within the industry, before his well-deserved retirement in 2002. He maintained a healthy interest in the business for many years and looked on proudly as the next generation of family continued to expand and grow Camfaud into the nationwide player that it is today.

We are all truly saddened by his passing, but also eternally grateful to have had his warmth and inspiration to guide us over many years. RIP big man, you will be sorely missed.
